From the editor’s desk: What else can we tell you about the election?

One of our most profound responsibilities as a news organization is providing coverage of elections.
From candidate profiles to issue-oriented coverage of local ballot measures to editorials meant to make you think about your vote, The Bulletin tries to make it easier for you to make decisions regarding your ballot.
With the May 21 primary election coming up in less than a month, I wanted to take this opportunity to ask what issues you think The Bulletin should be reporting on as it pertains to this election cycle.
We have reported for months about the newly non-partisan Deschutes County Commissioner race, for example. And we are covering candidate forums and profiles of incumbent Phil Chang and challengers Brian Huntamer, Robert C. Imhoff and Judy Trego soon. But what questions have been unasked?
Likewise, we’ve reported at length about the proposed five-year local option levy that would support Bend-La Pine Schools, including a lengthy story by Noemi Arellano-Summer that answered some reader questions we had seen over the preceding weeks. But what other questions do you have about the proposed tax increase?
Deschutes County Sheriff, Redmond city charter changes, partisan statehouse primaries — many important issues are on the ballot, and we hope your questions and feedback can help inform our coverage. Email me at jjohnson@bendbulletin.com with your suggestions.
And know that our work covering the election would not be possible without the support of our subscribers.
If you don’t already, please take the time to consider a subscription to The Bulletin, so we can continue bringing you the news that matters to Central Oregonians.
And remember: Tuesday is the deadline to register to vote in the May 21 election. This guide tells you how to do it.
