The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of Week for April 15-20.

Corbin Bittner, a senior on the Mountain View golf team, and Brooklyn Chapin, a freshman on the Caldera softball team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Caldera’s Brooklyn Chapin

Chapin was nominated by The Bulletin’s sports staff after Chapin to help secure its first Intermountain Conference sweep in a three-game series against Ridgeview.

In two starts and three appearances, Chapin threw 18 innings, allowed seven hits (including two one-hit games), and allowed just one earned run while striking out 20 batters.

Mountain View’s Corbin Bittner

Corbin Bittner was nominated by Mountain View golf coach Lucas Taroli after Bittner averaged a score of 79 in three tournaments during the week. At the Bend Open at Bend Golf Club, Bittner finished third after shooting a 76. Then at the Mountain View Invitational at Awbrey Glen Golf Club, he shot an 83.

The senior then finished eighth at the 5A Boys State Preview at Quail Valley with a score of 78.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday, April 30. Local players are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
