Former Ducks star Luke Jackson hired to coach Pleasant Hill boys basketball

One of Oregon’s best ever boys basketball players is now in charge of helping the next generation.

Luke Jackson, who played for Oregon in the early 2000s, was hired to coach Pleasant Hill’s boys basketball team. He spent the 2023-24 season as an assistant for the Billies, east of Eugene.

Jackson spent his high school years playing for Creswell, where he scored 2,095 and helped lead the Bulldogs to the Class 3A state title in 2000. His senior year, he recorded 232 assists, which is fifth in Oregon high school history.

Jackson attended Oregon and was a star for the Ducks through 2004. Jackson was an All-Pac-10 selection in the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. His senior season, he led the Ducks in points (21.2 per game), rebounds (7.2) and assists (4.5), and was a finalist for the Wooden Award and the Naismith Player of the Year award.
