The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of Week for April 29-May 4

Brezlyn Hagemeister, a freshman on the Ridgeview softball team, and Bryce Grieb, a sophomore on the Summit golf team were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Grieb was nominated by Summit golf coach Andy Heinly after the sophomore came away as the individual champion by posting a score of 155 (3-over par) at the IMC championships at the Resort Course at Eagle Crest April 29-30. Over 36 holes, Grieb birdied four holes and made 19 pars to help the Storm claim the league title.

Ridgeview’s Brezlyn Hagemeister

Hagemeister was nominated by The Bulletin’s sports staff after the freshman pitcher had a dominant series in a sweep of Mountain View to boost its playoff resume. In 21 innings over three games, Hagemeister struck out 35 batters and allowed five earned runs. In the batter’s box, Hagemeister hit three doubles and drove in nine runs for the Ravens.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday. Local players are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
