Authorities were searching for an attempted murder suspect east of Bend Wednesday night whom they described as “armed and dangerous,” according to a joint press release from the Bend Police Department and the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers were searching areas east of Hamby Road, south of Butler Market Road, west of Erickson Road, and north of Neff Road, including areas around Big Sky Park and Buckingham Elementary School, according to the release from sheriff’s Capt. William Bailey.
“There is a heavy law enforcement presence in the area east of Hamby Road searching for the suspect. If you live in the search area, please remain inside with your doors and windows locked,” Bailey said. “Report anything suspicious to Deschutes County 911.’
Bailey said authorities are looking for a man, who is 6-foot-3, 200 lbs. and was last seen wearing a dark shirt and blue or gray pants.
“He is suspected of attempted murder, first-degree assault and kidnapping and should be considered armed and dangerous,” Bailey said.
