Summit boys and girls tennis teams claim Intermountain Conference titles

- Summit's Kate Bonetto won the girls singles Intermountain Conference championship on Saturday at Caldera High School.
The Summit boys and girls tennis teams each won Intermountain Conference titles this past weekend at Caldera High School.
The Summit boys claimed the championship with 12 points, followed by Caldera (6) and Redmond (3).
The Storm girls won the IMC with 44 points, ahead of Redmond (31) and Bend (20).
The Class 5A tennis state championships are scheduled for Friday at the West Hills Racquet and Fitness Club in Portland and Saturday at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center in Beaverton.
State qualifiers in singles for IMC boys include IMC champion Aiden Cruz of Caldera, Parks Vodak of Bend, Max Histreet of Summit and Wyatt Chance of Summit. Double qualifiers include IMC champions Alex Lindsay and Austin Berg of Summit, Bobby Bloom and Noah Wood of Summit, Nolan Rife and Ethan Nguyen of Summit and Joe Johnson and Edison Medlock of Redmond.
State qualifiers in singles for IMC girls include IMC champion Kate Bonetto of Summit, Matilda Morgan of Summit, Brooklyn Lindsey of Redmond and Madeleine Renton of Bend.
Doubles qualifiers include IMC champions Brynn Capps and Grace Scott of Redmond, Sydney Cassaro and Darrian Streater of Ridgeview, Amara Diliberto and Kate Swigert of Summit and Haley Sullivan and Keara Kelly of Summit.
The Class 4A/3A/2A/1A tennis state championships are scheduled for Oregon State University in Corvallis on Friday and Saturday.
Boys singles state qualifiers from Central Oregon include Crook County’s Marcos Munoz (Special District 4 champion), Victor Covarrubias and Jaime Acunas, as well as Dominic Pulver of Sisters. Doubles state qualifiers include the Crook County teams of Hoyt Kudlac and Caleb Decker (Special District 4 champions), Iker Layunta and Alvaro Coca Ruiz, and Greg Hubble and Evan Wood. The Madras teams of Juan Olivera and Matias Ruiz Jr. also qualified.
Girls singles state qualifiers include Special District 4 champion Juhree Kizziar of Sisters, Samantha Ramos of Crook County, Katie Ryan of Sisters, and Callie Winebarger of Crook County. Doubles state qualifiers include Special District 4 champions Haven Housely and Delaney Engstron of Crook County, and Leah O’Hern and Sophia Rush of Sisters.
