- The Downtown Bend Public Library will host a satire workshop on Thursday.
Deschutes Public Library is kicking off summer reading at 10 a.m. June 1 at Alpenglow Park in Bend.
There will be a concert for kids and activities through the library system and community organizations.
Kids and adults can track their summer reading via the Beanstack website. Paper reading and activity logs will also be available at all Deschutes Public Library branches.
Everyone who signs up receives a free book bag, with art by staff member Lilianne Fiacco.
When finished with their reading logs, kids can pick out a free book, while adults will receive a sticker sheet. The grand prize drawing is in September, with prizes ranging from puppets to Hydro Flasks.
This year’s theme is conservation.
