Pacific Power plans to host a customer forum on Tuesday, June 4, in Bend to discuss its efforts to protect communities from wildfire. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Worthy Brewing, 495 NE Bellevue Drive, Bend.

Company representatives from Pacific Power will detail the steps it takes during wildfire season to prevent its equipment from sparking fires. The forum is an opportunity for the public to learn about Pacific Power’s wildfire mitigation plan in Oregon.

The forum will cover how Pacific Power manages its public safety power shutoffs and its weather monitoring capabilities.

Last year PacifiCorp, the parent company of Pacific Power, agreed to pay out $299 million to settle lawsuits connected to 2020 Labor Day fires that killed nine people, burned more than 1,875 square miles and destroyed upward of 5,000 homes and other structures.
