- CS Construction held a groundbreaking party on May 9 at the Personalized Nutrients construction site.
Project name: Personalized Nutrients — Sisters Addition
Address: 68994 N. Pine St., Sisters
Developer: Personalized Nutrients LLC
General Contractor: CS Construction
Architect: Mayes Architecture & Planning, Inc.
Owner: DDA Realty
Cost of the project: About $4.4 million
Project details: Expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2025, the nutritional medicine producer’s expansion will serve as its new corporate headquarters and production facility. The 17,650-foot building, located in the industrial zone of Sisters, will have manufacturing space, a warehouse and second-story corporate office space with views of the Three Sisters from a covered upper deck, according to CS Construction.
Kourtney Hackbarth, Personalized Nutrients office manager, said in an email that the company is the first and only Personalized N of 1 nutraceutical manufacturer in the U.S. and the new manufacturing facility will support its growing demand. According to the National Institutes of Health, a personalized N of 1 trial determines how a patient will respond to different treatments.
The project includes a cleanroom, which requires a high-level of construction to ensure the space will maintain environments with extremely low levels of airborne particles such as dust, microbes, aerosol particles and chemical vapors. The exterior design features a western lodge style with painted board and batten siding and a standing seam metal roof.
Justin DeTurris and Pete Duenes founded Personalized Nutrients in 2012. The company has been based in Sisters since 2015. It works with healthcare professionals to make custom nutritional formulas for their patients and practices, according to its website. The new facility will be built on its existing property.
“Personalized Nutrients is proud to be based and operate out of Central Oregon, and with this expansion, the company plans to continue positively impacting the vibrant Central Oregon community while pursuing its global mission of personalizing nutritional medicine,” Hackbarth wrote.
CS Construction has built over 50 buildings in Central Oregon. Projects include Bend High School, 10 Barrel Brewing’s Eastside Pub, Westside Village and MyMD Personal Medicine.
