Timothy Penhollow
March 24, 1969 – June 13, 2024
Timothy Alan Penhollow was born in Salem, Oregon and grew up on High Street Southeast where he forged family bonds and formed lifelong friendships. His kind-hearted, fun-loving, and artistically-creative spirit will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Tim’s childhood was spent in the same South Salem house where he was able to walk to McKinley Elementary School, Leslie Middle School, and South Salem High School, graduating from there in 1987. From a very early age, Tim showed himself to be the artist of the family, learning to play the violin and developing a keen capability for caricatures. His talents matured into a career of framing art pieces where his eye for color and contrast combined with his sense of texture and tone. His happy demeanor and expert advice won over many regular customers wherever he worked. The same attitude and approach served him well during his time volunteering at the Humane Society and his many years working for the Northern Lights Theater pub.
Outside of work, Tim had many interests, including exploring the outdoors. Whether it was a trip up the canyon to dive into the Little North Fork or traveling to Patagonia and ice-hiking with his brothers there, Tim enjoyed being in nature, especially with friends and family. Indoors, Tim loved cheering on the Portland Trailblazers, eating tacos, and curling up on the coach with a cat, sometimes all at the same time!
Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Suallen, and is survived by his father, William, his son Nicholas (Allie) and daughter Nicole, as well as his three brothers and one sister, four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 29, at 10:00 am at Court Street Christian Church, 1699 Court Street NE.
