Outdoor activities and sporting events in Central Oregon this week

Central Oregon has a wide variety of outdoor activities and local competitions, spanning multiple sports, this week.

Head out for a ride with Blazin Saddles. Compete against other young disc golf players at Seventh Mountain Resort. Meet at Shevlin Park for a Sunday morning run. Or race road bikes in the July criterium series at Pacific Crest Middle School.

Group Bike Ride — Gravel Bike

Sisters Park & Recreation District have partnered with Blazin Saddles to host a series of group rides throughout the spring and summer. All rides will be led by Blazin Saddles staff and the rides are catered to the particular group on the particular evening. This week’s will be a gravel ride on local trails and unpaved roads. Registration is encouraged.

Junior & Teen Disc Golf Event

This kids’ disc golf event includes a disc and lunch along with two or more round on the Seventh Mountain Resort Disc Golf Course. It’s open to players 6-18 years old of all skill levels. The winners of each division will receive a trophy.

Community Run with Wander Run Club

Run with others at Shevlin Park every Sunday morning. All paces, all bodies welcome. Find more information and updates on the groups Instagram page.

Bend Summer Criterium Series

The four-week series will take place around Pacific Crest Middle School, where many different racing categories will race throughout the evening. The race will be run clockwise. All racers are welcome. Fields labeled as “open” are open to all racers, including those that identify as cis/trans male, cis/trans female or non-binary. All OBRA rules will be in effect. Neutral support will be provided by Sagebrush Cycles, and medical support will be provided by Red Bird Physio.

There will also be a Kiddie Crit and Junior Race Series along with the criterium series. Kids ages 4-8 will ride one lap on the criterium course and juniors between the ages of 9-12 will do a 20-minute criterium race.
