Dustbowl Revival at Sisters Art Works

- California folk-soul septet Dustbowl Revival plays Tuesday at Sisters Art Works.
If you’ve ever stood on the grass behind Sisters Art Works and danced yourself silly to a live band’s performance as the warmth of a sunny day gave way to evening’s mountain-air chill, you already know a concert there is one of Central Oregon’s top musical experiences.
And if you didn’t know that, now you do.
Either way, good news: the organization behind Big Ponderoo and the Sisters Folk Festival is putting on three shows on the Art Works lawn over the next month. The first of these will happen Tuesday, July 9, and will feature Dustbowl Revival, a group of stringbenders, hornblowers and vocalists from California whose music lives mostly near the midpoint between earthy, spirited folk-rock and groovy, highly danceable funk ‘n’ soul. Their most recent full-length — 2022’s “Is It You, Is It Me” — “deftly strikes a successful balance between gravity and fun,” according to PopMatters.
As for the other two concerts coming soon to Sisters Art Works, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will play on Friday, July 26 and Elephant Revival will do the same on Thursday, Aug. 1. Learn more about all three at sffpresents.org.
Dustbowl Revival: 7 p.m. Tuesday, doors open 6 p.m., $30 adults, $17 youth, Sisters Art Works, 204 W. Adams Ave., Sisters, sffpresents.org.
