- Jarrod Penttila, associate director of capital planning and construction, tours the Student Success Center under construction at OSU-Cascades in Bend.
Oregon State University-Cascades has begun a tour program to show community members the growth and development happening on the Bend campus.
Tours are free, for 12 to 24 participants, and registration is required. The events will take place generally on the fourth Fridays of the month between 10:30 a.m. and noon.
The university has already set tour dates for the rest of this year and through 2025. The first date is Aug. 23.
Tours will be guided by staff members and include a classroom session on the history of OSU-Cascades. It will also include discussion of academic program offerings and the campus’ future.
The tour will also include walks through Edward J. Ray and Tykeson Halls to learn about net-zero energy and waste and water goals for the campus. Participants will also tour the campus growth-and-land remediation work to turn a former pumice mine and landfill into usable land for academics and industry.
