The Central Oregon music scene is officially in full summer swing, with so many options throughout the region it’s very challenging to try to cover them all in print. Here’s a very quick rundown of some highlights:

Umphrey’s McGee and Blues Traveler canceled their show at Bend’s Hayden Homes Amphitheater, but the venue still has a busy week planned with Northwest folk-rock faves The Decemberists and The Head and the Heart on Friday, heavy prog-rock bands Primus and Coheed and Cambria on Saturday and an evening with Americana sweethearts The Avett Brothers Sunday. In Sisters, The Belfry will host a midweek treat on Wednesday, July 17, as the excellent twang-rock band Sarah Shook & the Disarmers returns to the region. They’re touring behind their new album Revelations, which “elegizes the underbelly of American life, all the while basking in country-pop hooks,” says No Depression. Don’t let the phrase “country-pop” scare you; Shook is a badass. Learn more at belfryevents.com.

Speaking of Sisters, the summer tribute concert series at Hardtails Bar & Grill kicks off Saturday with an appearance by Luckytown, playing the music of Bruce Springsteen. Coming to the Hardtails stage over the next few weeks: Tributes to The Cars, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and Pink Floyd. Get tickets at bendticket.com and more info at hardtailsoregon.com.

Volcanic Theatre Pub is busy, too, with six shows over the next seven nights: Mysterious synthwave band Magic Sword (Thursday), singer-songwriters Joe Estrada and Jason Burky (Friday), EDM artists Kendoll and Qlank (Saturday), indie rock duo Quasi playing their 1998 album “Featuring Birds” in full (Sunday), progressive bluegrass band TopHouse (Tuesday, July 16) and eclectic country band Serafima and the Shakedowns (Wednesday, July 17). Whew! More info: volcanictheatre.com.
