A Bend man has been charged with 10 counts of encouraging child sex abuse.
Jesus Andres Quintana, 30, had his activities first flagged by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office in February when the office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Over the next few months, detectives identified Quintana as the operator of an account distributing child sex abuse material, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Quintana was arrested July 18, and, while in custody, the digital forensics unit analyzed Quintana’s cellphone, discovering evidence he was consuming and duplicating child sex abuse material, according to the sheriff’s office. He was charged with three additional counts of child sex abuse on Tuesday while he was being held at the Deschutes County Jail.
Quintana has a plea hearing scheduled on Aug. 16.
