Every school in Redmond School District, including Redmond Preparatory Academy, will have free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-25 school year.
The district is using the Community Eligibility Provision, a meal service option for schools provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which means that free meals will be available for the next three years depending on the district’s financial eligibility.
Students are allowed one breakfast and one lunch per day, with one milk provided per meal. Additional entrees, adult meals or additional milk will still be charged.
The district will no longer process school meal benefit applications except for direct certifications through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, Medicaid, Migrant Education and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
