Oregon Cascades 100-mile and 50-mile trail runs set for Aug. 24-25

The Oregon Cascades 100 trail run is set for trails near Bend on Aug. 24-25.
The event includes point-to-point races of 50 and 100 miles, on mostly dirt singletrack from Bend to Sisters.
The 100-mile race features 10,700 feet of elevation gain and the 50-mile route includes 4,000 feet of elevation gain.
The races include smooth, flowing singletrack in the shadow of Mount Bachelor before dropping onto some rugged terrain as runners being to descend toward Sisters. The 100-mile course consists of 84% singletrack trails and will have 13 full aid stations. Runners will be allowed 32 hours, 1 minute, 18 seconds to finish. Runners in the 50-mile race will have 16 hours to finish.
The 100-mile race is a qualifier for the popular Western States 100 trail run in Northern California.
The Oregon Cascades 100 starts at Pacific Crest Middle School in Bend at 6 a.m. on Aug. 24. The 50-mile race starts at Swampy Lakes Sno-park at 10 a.m. on Aug. 24. Races finish at Sisters Middle School.
Registration closes this Sunday at midnight. Entry fees are $455 for the 100-mile race and $189 for the 50-mile race.
