A Bend nonprofit psilocybin treatment center, which connects individuals to affordable mental health treatment, just received $50,000 to continue its work providing accessible resources in Central Oregon.
Bendable Therapy received the grant from Dr. Bronner’s, a family-owned soap company, to support providing accessible mental health treatment.
Bendable’s mission is to provide accessibility to mental health treatment by removing economic barriers for individuals in Oregon and out of state.
“Dr. Bronner’s has been really committed to working with the veteran population,” said Amanda Gow, Bendable founder and executive director. “This will additionally go towards serving our veteran community as well, in addition to scholarships for folks.”
Many clients of Bendable grapple with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, disordered eating and addiction and do not find success in traditional treatment.
Treatments Bendable connects clients with include trauma counseling, substance use disorder treatment, traditional talk therapy, acupuncture, equine therapy and more.
In the past year, Bendable has served 200 individuals, awarding $230,000 in financial aid.
“We’re excited to be able to serve central Oregonians and to continue to support folks with scholarship dollars to decrease the cost of these treatments,” Gow said.
