- A home burned Tuesday on SW Mesa Way in Redmond. Crews put out the blaze, but the home was a total loss.
A fire destroyed a southwest Redmond home Tuesday morning.
According to Redmond Fire & Rescue, callers reported a manufactured home in the 6100 block of SW Mesa Way on fire at about 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 3.
By the time fire crews responded, the homeowner had evacuated. No injuries were reported, according to Fire Marshal Tom Mooney.
The home was surrounded by brush and mature trees, but firefighters contained the blaze before it spread to neighboring properties. Mooney said crews put the fire out in about 40 minutes.
The cause of the fire was likely an electrical shortage in an extension cord plugged into a bedroom wall, said Mooney. The home was a total loss.
