- Blues guitarist Carvin Jones will play Redmond's High Desert Music Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
If you’re supposed to fight fire with fire, then it only makes sense that you should battle the Hump Day blues with blues music.
On that front, High Desert Music Hall has you covered. On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the Redmond concert venue will host the explosive blues guitarist Carvin Jones, whom none other than Eric Clapton once called “the next up-and-coming blues player.”
Originally from Texas, Jones’ eye-popping skills on the electric guitar have taken him all over the world — to 37 countries on three continents. He’s a classic blues player with a rock ‘n’ roll streak and a husky singing voice that makes you really feel what he’s throwing down.
And he’s been doing it for a while; in 2001, Guitarist Magazine named Jones one of the top 50 blues guitarists of all time, and he has played alongside longtime giants like B.B. King, Carlos Santana, Albert King and Jeff Beck.
Carvin Jones: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, $35, High Desert Music Hall, 818 SW Forest Ave., Redmond, highdesertmusichall.com.
