Barbara Kinghorn Preble

Barbara Kinghorn Preble passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024 at her home in Bend. She married Elliott (Deak) Preble in 1950 in Pittsfield MA. They were married for 68 years before Deak’s death in 2018. They lived in Salt Lake City, St Louis, Los Angeles and moved to Bend in 1979.

Besides being one of the original volunteers at the High Desert Museum, Barbara was active in the Bend community serving on the boards and committees of many different organizations including the Opportunity Foundation of CO, Deschutes County Mental Health Advisory Board, Cascade Theatrical Company, Cascade Festival of Music and COCAAN (Neighbor Impact).

She is survived by her children Kipp Susan and Laird and her granddaughters Chelsea, Mackenzie and Kelsey.
