Evacuations expand after fire grows Monday; Sunriver area under Level 1 warning

Sunriver, Fall River Estates and nearby neighborhoods are under Level 1-Be Ready evacuation notice due to “significant” growth of the Little Lava Fire to the east, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office. 

Evacuation areas due to the Bachelor Complex Fire, which includes the Little Lava Fire, were expended Monday evening after the fire grew in size. The fire was reported at 1,000 acres Monday.

Level 3-Go Now evacuations were in place for:

• Mount Bachelor south to to Forest Road 40, west of Forest Road 41 (Conklin Road) and south of Forest Road 4140.

• Areas south of Forest Road 40, north of Forest Road 42 (South Century Drive), east of Forest Road 4032, and west of the Deschutes National Forest boundary.

Level 3 means leave immediately.

Level 2-Be Set notices were in place for:

• Areas south of Forest Road 40, north of Forest Road 42 (South Century Drive), west of Forest Road 4210 and east of Forest Road  4032.

• Areas east of Forest Road 45 (River Summit Drive) to Forest Road 41 (Conklin Road), south of Century Drive and north of Forest Road 4140.

• Deschutes National Forest east of Forest Road 41 (Conklin Road), west of the Deschutes River, north of Forest Road 40/Spring River Drive and south of Benham Falls, e xcluding private property, which is Level 1-Be Ready.

Level 2 means be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice.

Level 1-Be Ready evacuation notices were in place for:

• Sunriver

 • Areas west of the Deschutes River from Fall River Estates north to Spring River Road, including Fall River Estates, River Forest Acres, River Meadows, Stage Stop Meadows and Deschutes River Recreational Homesites.
 
• Areas north of Spring River Road west of the Deschutes River, including the Besson Road area and Spring River Acres.

Level 1 means be ready for potential evacuation.
