Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon is seeking new mentors to support local youth before the end of the year.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentorship program that matches youth with adult volunteers so they can build professionally supported, one-to-one relationships. The program has over 90 kids waiting for a mentor, and the program is looking for more community members to help provide guidance, friendship and support to these children.

“We have so many kids ready to be matched with a Big, and every day they wait is a missed opportunity for growth and connections,” said Program Director Jenn Davis. “A mentor doesn’t need to be a superhero — just someone who cares enough to spend time with a child and help them navigate life challenges.”

Mentors must commit to spending a few hours a month with their mentees. No other special experience is needed to participate in the program. To sign up or learn more about volunteer opportunities, visit www.bbbsco.org or call 541-312-6047.
