Ten Central Oregon volleyball players were named to the Class 5A and 4A all-state volleyball teams, and one local coach was selected as Coach of the Year.

All-state teams are determined by a vote of the state’s coaches, compiled by the SBLive Oregon staff, and published jointly by SBLive Oregon and The Oregonian/OregonLive.

In her first year leading the Crook County volleyball program, Makayla Lindburg was named Class 4A’s Co-Coach of the Year along with Marshfield’s Tammie Montiel. Lindburg led the Cowgirls to a Tri-Valley Conference title and a third-place finish at the state tournament, their highest state placing since 2016.

Crook County had four players make the all-state team, with senior Azmita Pennington landing on the second team. Junior Lillimae Brumble, senior Callie Winebarger and sophomore Paige Wood received honorable mention.

Bend High, which finished fifth at the 5A state tournament, had three players make the all-state team, while Mountain View had two and Caldera had one.

Bend senior Lucy Schuller, the Intermountain Conference’s Player of the Year, was named to the state’s first team. Lava Bear seniors Brooke Braude and Jasi Kjellesvik were both named to the second team. Mountain View seniors Jayden Nelson and Emerson Saunders received honorable mention, as did Caldera senior Kaialani Kelly.
