- Chase Ebersold, 10, of Bend floats off a jump while snowboarding near Red Chair at Mt. Bachelor ski area Monday morning. Mt. Bachelor plans an early opening on Friday to pass holders only. “I think it’s superfun and I can’t wait to go snowboarding down the whole hill,” Ebersold said.
Mt. Bachelor ski area will re-open Friday with three lifts, 21 groomed trails and 650 acres of terrain after beginning the 2024-2025 season two weeks earlier than planned.
The ski area opened Friday through Sunday for pass holders only in the earliest start to the season since 1998. This weekend, the mountain will be open for everyone and discounted lift tickets will be sold for $50.
Skyliner Express, Little Pine and Red Chair lifts will be open Friday through Sunday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The ski area reported 54 inches of snow on the mountain as of Wednesday, and more is expected to fall in the coming days.
The mountain is closed to all guests until Friday so that teams can conduct maintenance and preparation for re-opening. This includes all uphill access. Mt. Bachelor ski area will open for regular daily operations on Nov. 29.
