A 24-year-old Klamath Falls man was arrested Thursday night after an attempted armed carjacking in Bend, according to police.
The incident occurred around 7:23 p.m. in the 300 block of SE Reed Market Road, near Third Street. Bend Police said the suspect, identified as Matthew Carlton Drake, reportedly pointed a gun at a 48-year-old woman and ordered her out of her car. The woman fled with her keys but left her phone inside the vehicle and called 911 from a family member’s phone. She later saw the suspect in her car, she told police, which was where she had left it.
