Delmar “Del” Binder passed peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, December 5, 2024, surrounded by his four loving children. He was born June 9, 1938, in Nampa, Idaho to Jacob (Jake) and Ina Binder. In 1949, his family relocated to Madras, Oregon where Del attended middle and high school.
Del worked as an equipment operator at Warm Springs Forest Products for 34 years.
Del married his wife of 42 years, Susan (Susie), on September 10, 1971, in Reno, Nevada.
He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and traveling, but loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
Del is survived by his four children: Ronald (Lori) Binder, Karen Madrigal, Kristie (Dale) Keller, and Cindy (Karl) Frink; four grandchildren: Melanie Binder, Carmen Handsaker, Angie (Bruce) Brunoe, and Justine Madrigal; his brother Marlin (Roger) Binder, and his two sisters Della Myers and Kathy Binder. Del also is survived by numerous great grandchildren. Del was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Ina Binder; his wife, Susan (Susie) Binder; his brother, Clayton Binder; and his daughter, Teresa (Teri) Binder.
A celebration of Del’s life will be held at the Metolius Friends Church on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, Del asked for donations to the St. Charles Foundation-Redmond Cancer Center, 2500 NE Neff Road, Bend, OR 97701 and/or Partners in Care, Attn: Development, 2075 NE Wyatt Ct., Bend, OR 97701.
