The Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund has awarded the Central Oregon Community College “Growing Together” campaign $250,000. The campaign is also set to receive $50,000 in matching funds.

The funding will be used for the Madras campus expansion, set to open in the winter of 2026. The project is on track and within budget, said officials.

The 24,000-square-foot facility will house early childhood education programs, health career pathways and a child care center. The expansion project will help fill the healthcare and child care gap in Jefferson County.

The project has been in construction since June. It is being funded through federal, state, institutional and other public resources. The COCC Foundation is seeking the remainder of the funding through grants and private philanthropy.
