Changes are coming to Olney Avenue in Bend, and residents are invited to learn more at a pre-construction open house Jan. 14.

The event will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Element Bend Hotel, 1526 NW Wall St. It will provide details on planned upgrades to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

Construction, set to begin in February, will be completed in phases to minimize traffic disruptions. The project includes upgrades along Olney Avenue from the Portland Avenue bridge to NE Second Street, as well as improvements at intersections with Wall Street and Second Street.

In addition to transportation upgrades, the project will include water, sewer and stormwater improvements.
