Bend Police are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive Friday morning at the Holiday Motel on Southeast Third Street.

Officers responded to a welfare check at 8:24 a.m. Friday after an employee discovered the man in a hotel room. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Bend resident Robert Lewis Treher, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are treating Treher’s death as a homicide. A significant police presence remained at the motel until early Saturday morning as investigators, including forensic teams from Oregon State Police, processed the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
