Wildfire protection plan targeting Upper Deschutes area available for review

Deschutes County residents from La Pine to Sunriver are being asked to review the Upper Deschutes River Community Wildfire Protection Plan. The plan has been posted online for public review and feedback.
The protection plan is designed to help the county identify place-based solutions for wildfire resilience, such as identifying and prioritizing areas for hazardous fuels reduction treatments. It also addresses community preparedness.
The document identifies wildfire risks in Upper Deschutes area, details evacuation plans covers forest treatments and hardening communities against the threat of wildfire.
Community members can provide feedback by going online at: deschutes.org/forester.
