- A runner makes her way along the Deschutes River Trail just downstream of First Street Rapids in Bend.
A free informational online meeting for a Bend-based women’s 5-kilometer training group is scheduled for Monday from 7 to 8 p.m.
Michelle Poirot, head coach of “Ceiling: Unlimited Health Coaching,” is now in her fourth year of offering running groups designed by and for women. “Learn to Run Bend” is her flagship women’s 5K training group. Aspiring runners build a foundation of fitness and running knowledge, according to a news release.
LTRB meets twice weekly for nine weeks starting March 15 and is designed to help women train for upcoming 5K races.
At the informational meeting, Poirot will discuss gear, handling injuries, nutrition, strength clinics and how to make running a lifelong habit.
Poirot is a Road Runners Club of America-certified running coach and a Duke University-certified health coach. She provides running and health coaching for women navigating midlife.
