Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 1 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Girls
Harper Smith, Crook County basketball: In the Cowgirls’ 61-43 win over Madras on Jan. 31, the junior guard led all scorers with 22 points and made two 3-pointers to help Crook County win its fourth-straight game and remain undefeated in Tri-Valley Conference play.
Lucy Cross, Summit basketball: In the Storm’s 48-42 victory over Caldera on Jan. 30, the junior recorded nine points, seven rebounds and two assists to help the Storm secure a much-needed Intermountain Conference win.
Nova Danzig, Ridgeview wrestling: At the Tod Surmon/Mid Valley Classic in Albany, Danzig won the 125-pound title. She won two of her matches, including the championship bout, by pin and also had a technical fall to improve to 20-5 on the season.
Boys
Will Manfredi, Summit basketball: In the Storm’s near-upset against No. 1 Caldera on Jan. 30, the senior guard scored 23 points while playing stellar defense in a 71-69 loss.
Gannon McNulty, Redmond wrestling: The sophomore won the 157-pound title at the Hood River Memorial Tournament on Feb. 1. McNulty finished with two pins, a technical fall, and a major decision in the championship round.
Rocco Caranna, Summit wrestling: At the Hood River Memorial Tournament, the 215-pounder won all four of his matches to claim the weight-class title. Caranna finished with three pins (two in the first round) and won by major decision in the championship match.
