The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 1. More than 300 votes were cast.

Nova Danzig, a junior on the Ridgeview girls wrestling team, and Will Manfredi, a senior on the Summit boys boys basketball team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Danzig was nominated by The Bulletin’s sports staff after she won the 125-pound title at the Tod Surmon/Mid Valley Classic in Albany. She won two of her matches, including the championship bout, by pin while picking up a technical fall to improve to 20-5 on the season.

Will Manfredi, Summit basketball

Manfredi was nominated by Summit coach Joe Wells after the senior guard scored 23 points and played “stellar defense” in the Storm’s near-upset against No. 1 Caldera on Jan. 30 in a 71-69 loss.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday.

Local athletes are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
