Madras and Summit basketball players voted Athletes of the Week

The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Feb. 3-8.

Piper Richwine, a sophomore on the Summit girls basketball team, and Matthew Suppah-Scott, a junior on the Madras boys basketball team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Richwine was nominated by Summit coach Austin Crook after the sophomore guard finished with 14 points to help the Storm win their third consecutive Intermountain Conference game and 14th game of the season, a 53-44 victory over Mountain View on Feb. 7.

Matthew Suppah-Scott, Madras boys basketball

Suppah-Scott was nominated by The Bulletin’s sports staff after the junior post filled up the stat sheet in Madras’s 63-50 win over Estacada on Feb. 3. He finished with a team-high 17 points and added four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday.

Local athletes are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
