Here’s what’s on the ballot in Deschutes County May 20

The upcoming special district election is May 20. April 29 is the last day to register to vote, as ballots are mailed the next day. Ballot drop boxes open May 2.
Here’s everything on the ballot in Deschutes County:
School, library and college boards
In Deschutes County, three people are running unopposed for Bend-La Pine School board seats: Jennifer Lynch for Zone 1, and incumbents Marcus LeGrand for Zone 2 and Shirley Olson for Zone 4. Ross Tomlin, the incumbent, and Theo Wilhelm are running for Zone 6, while incumbent Kina Chadwick and Justin Van Patten are running for the Zone 7 seat.
Incumbent Eric Lea and Ashley Proctor are running for Position 1 and Michael Summers, the incumbent, is running for Position 2 for the Redmond School District board. Joelle Beget and incumbent Amanda Page are running for Position 3. The district voting area includes a section of Jefferson County.
Megan Jamieson and Sarah Keeton are running for Position 1, Erik Benton is running for Position 2 and Emily Horton and Edie Jones are running for Position 5 for the Sisters School District board. The district voting area includes a section of Jefferson County.
Additionally, four people are running unopposed for Deschutes Public Library District board seats: Erin Trimble for Zone 1, Laura Leis for Zone 2, Michele Anderson for Zone 3 and Betsy Tucker for Zone 4.
Incumbents are running unopposed for the Central Oregon Community College board: Joe Krenowicz for Zone 1, Laura Craska Cooper for Zone 2, Alan Unger for Zone 3 and Erica Skatvold for Zone 4.
Park district boards
Nathan Hovekamp is running for Zone 3 of the Bend Park & Recreation District board, while Austin Mazzolini and Cary Schneider are running for Zone 4 and Deb Schoen for the Zone 5 seat.
Incumbents are running unopposed for the La Pine Park & Recreation District board: Janilee Carpenter, Joel Brader, Brandon Tirrill, Carlos Soto and Shara Bauman.
Position 1 of the Redmond Area Park & Recreation District board has two candidates: Dave Cosper and Katie Jalo. Mercedes Cook-Bostick and Kevin Scoggin are running unopposed for two other seats.
Bob Keefer, Katie Bunce and Julia Sarver are running unopposed for three seats on the Sisters Park & Recreation District board.
Levies, fire and sanitary districts
The Black Butte Ranch Service District has a five-year local option levy of $0.79 per $1,000 of assessed property value on the ballot to fund operations. The Cascade View Estates Tract 2 Special Road District has a levy of $1.39 per $1,000 of assessed property value on the ballot to fund repair and resurfacing of existing paved roads.
Steven Davidson, Oliver Tatom and George Roshak are running unopposed for the Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District board.
For the La Pine Rural Fire Protection District board, which includes a portion of Klamath County, Robin Lannan Adams, Jeremy Johnson and Dan Robinette are running unopposed.
For the Redmond Fire & Rescue board, which includes portions of Crook and Jefferson counties, Gary Ollerenshaw, Dick Knorr and Jessica Meyer are running unopposed.
For the Alfalfa Fire District board, three open seats drew one candidate: Mark Laucks. The Black Butte Ranch Rural Fire Protection District board drew two unopposed candidates: Tom Sawyer and Lawrence Stucker.
Deanne Dement and Cindy Kettering are running unopposed for two seats on the Cloverdale Rural Fire Protection District board.
For the Sisters-Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District board, which includes a portion of Jefferson County, Rodney Cooper and Jeffrey Tryens are running for Position 2, and Gordon Hovies and Craig Matthews are running for Position 5. Jack McGowen and Kristie Miller are running unopposed for two other seats.
James Teel and Ricky Keller are running unopposed for the Oregon Water Wonderland Unit II Sanitary District board. Kristin Yurdin is the sole candidate among three positions on the Terrebonne Sanitary District board.
Jeannie Fraley is an unopposed candidate for the Tumalo Basin Sewer District board. Velda Aldous, Eric Fisher and Matthew Banton are running unopposed for the Terrebonne Domestic Water District board.
