Bend Police are searching for two suspects who ran from an attempted traffic stop in the area of Deschutes Market and Yeoman roads at approximately 10:30 a.m. this morning.

Officers identified one man as David Alan Mills, a 46-year-old Bend resident, but they did not know the identity of the second man. Mills is described as having a shaved head and police said he is armed. The second man was reportedly wearing a black flat-billed baseball cap. Both are adult, white men.

Mills is the suspect in a weapons offense that took place at 3:30 a.m. Thursday on NE Bellevue Drive. When officers attempted to stop Mills, who was inside a silver Kia Rio, the vehicle instead drove at high speeds into the parking area of the Solis at Petrosa apartment complex.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., Deschutes County 911 sent out an emergency alert to anyone within a half-mile radius of the attempted traffic stop to alert residents that Mills is at large and not to approach.

The public is advised to expect a significant police presence in the northeast area of Bend as the search continues.
