Sisters baseball player, Caldera runner voted Athletes of Week

The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for April 7-12.
Maddie Carney, a sophomore on the Caldera girls track team, and Sebastian Storch, a junior on the Sisters baseball team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Storch was nominated by Sisters coach Matt Hilgers after the junior pitcher not only threw a no-hitter, but struck out all 15 batters in the five-inning game in Sisters’ 10-0 win over Burns on April 11 to help the Outlaws win their fourth game of the season.

Carney was nominated by The Bulletin sports staff after the sophomore distance runner had a pair of second-place finishes at the Need for Speed Invitational in Sherwood on April 12. Carney finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4 minutes, 42.65 seconds and placed second in the 3,000 with a time of 10:02.46.
