Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for April 14-19 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Girls
Brooklyn Lindsey, Redmond tennis: On April 17, Lindsey beat Ridgeview’s Darrian Streater (a state finalist in doubles last year) 6-2, 6-4 to improve her record to 8-2 and 3-0 in Intermountain Conference play.
Brezlyn Hagemeister, Ridgeview softball: In three wins last week, the sophomore pitcher combined to strike out 41 batters to help the Ravens remain undefeated at 12-0. Hagemeister also had six hits in nine plate appearances and finished with seven RBIs, a home run and a double.
Payton Richardson, Redmond golf: The junior won the Caldera Classic by 12 strokes on April 15 at River’s Edge Golf Course in Bend. Richardson finished with the low score of 78 (+6) while parring eight holes and finishing with four birdies.
Boys
Aiden Cruz, Caldera tennis: On April 18, the senior took down Crescent Valley’s Richard Wang (last year’s 5A singles runner-up) 6-3, 6-2. Cruz is now 7-0 this season against 5A competition.
Alex Via, Summit baseball: In the Storm’s three-game series win over Ridgeview last week, Via went 6-for-12 at the plate and drove in four runs. On the mound he struck out eight Ravens batters and allowed just three hits and did not allow a run in five innings of work.
Eli Oelkers, Crook County track: At the 23rd Prefontaine Rotary Invitational at Marshfield High in Coos Bay, Oelkers won both the 110-meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles. His 300 hurdles time of 39.8 seconds was a personal record. Oelkers (along with Adam Radabaugh, Gave Love and Jace Jonas) was also part of the 4×400 relay team that broke the Crook County record with a time of 3:23.56.
