William Perry Jordan
September 29, 1947 – April 12, 2025
William “Bill” Jordan, a beloved father, grandfather, friend and community member, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. Born on September 29, 1947, in Bend, Bill was the son of Laddie Q. and Connie Jordan.
Bill attended schools in Redmond, graduating from Redmond Union High School with the class of 1965. A talented wrestler, he competed at district and state levels and continued his athletic pursuits at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland. During his college years, Bill worked summers as a smoke jumper for the Forest Service at Redmond Air Center to fund his education. He earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Psychology, demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning and service to others.
Bill joined the National Guard while completing his studies, dedicating six years to serving his country. He used his education in social sciences to support juveniles in Jackson County before returning to Central Oregon in 1973. His work with the juveniles of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs as the Director of Mental Health highlighted his compassion and dedication to helping others. In 1980, Bill transitioned into a long and successful career in real estate sales and land development, where he excelled in both residential and commercial ventures.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill found joy in exploring Eastern Oregon, hunting, fishing and embracing the natural beauty around him. He was also a rancher and cattleman who raised livestock starting with Future Farmers Of America in school and later competing with a prized Hereford bull at the National Western Stock Show where the bull won the title of Grand Champion. A lifelong Yankees fan, he never missed a chance to cheer for his team, while also proudly supporting the Oregon Ducks.
Bill is survived by his loving family: his son Jeffrey Ladd Jordan and daughter-in-law Amy Jordan, his daughter Kimberly Jordan Cooper, his cherished grandchildren, Karys Cooper and Jaxon Cooper and his God son Suede Hamel of Stillwater Oklahoma. Bill’s legacy of resilience, dedication, and adventure lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, his passion for the outdoors, and his love for having fun.
Rest in peace, Bill Jordan. You will forever be held close in the memories and love of your family and friends.
