Crook County and La Pine track athletes voted The Bulletin’s Athlete of the Week

The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for April 21-26.

Sydney Schreiber, a sophomore for La Pine track and field, and Gabe Love, a senior for Crook County track and field, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Schreiber was nominated by The Bulletin sports staff after she ran the fastest Class 3A time in the 100-meter hurdles this season with a time of 15.95 seconds at the Rob Allen Twilight Invitational on April 25.

Gabe Love, Crook County track

Gabe Love

Love was nominated by The Bulletin sports staff after he won both the 100 meters (11.07 seconds) and the 200 (22.12) while throwing a season-best in the javelin (184 feet, 3 inches) to finish second at the Mazama Invitational on April 26.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday at bendbulletin.com/sports.

Local athletes are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
