Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for April 28-May 3 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Boys

Carter Wachs, Redmond track: At the Summit Invitational on May 3, Wachs won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.29 seconds, had a second-place finish in the 100 (11.04) and anchored Redmond’s second-place 4×100 relay team.

Gavin Williams, Madras tack: With a jump of 42 feet, 5.25 inches, the junior won the triple jump at the Summit Invitational. Williams also finished seventh in the 100, sixth in long jump and was part of the White Buffaloes’ fourth-place finishing 4×100 relay team.

Finn Chambers, Ridgeview baseball: In the Ravens’ sweep-clinching win over Bend High on May 2, Chambers threw a complete game while striking out seven Lava Bears batters on the mound. Throughout the course of the series, Chambers also drove in three runs at the plate.

Girls

Brooklyn Lindsey, Redmond tennis: The senior won her singles match last week against Caldera’s Alison Heinly in straight sets (6-2, 7-6) to improve to 5-0 against IMC opponents and help the Panthers remain undefeated as a team in conference play.

James Heinly, Caldera track: The sophomore won both the long jump and the triple jump at the Summit Invitational. Heinly jumped 16 feet, 11.75 inches in the long jump and 35 feet, 7.5 inches in the triple jump.

Elle Morton, Caldera softball: In the Wolfpack’s 19-7 win over Redmond on May 2, Morton went 4-for-4 at the plate and hit three home runs and drove in six runs. Morton also hit a home run and a triple and drove in two runs in Caldera’s 6-4 loss to Ridgeview on April 29.
