Bend High auditorium design to be revealed at May 15 open house

Published 3:37 pm Tuesday, May 6, 2025

Bend High School will host an open house 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. May 15 in the gymnasium to showcase the preliminary design of the upcoming auditorium.

Architectural renderings will be on display and school district representatives and BBT Architects will be available to answer questions. Those attending may also provide feedback on the design via an online form.

The old auditorium was demolished last summer after it was found to be structurally unsound. The new auditorium will be built on the same area, and have 1,400 seats. The proposed design includes seats on the main floor and a balcony.

The district is working with BBT Architects and Kirby Nagelhout Construction Co., which are also leading the four-year renovation of Bend High School.

Work on the design is expected to continue throughout 2025, along with work on the city permit. Construction is expected to begin in June 2026 and be substantially finished by fall 2028.
