A registered sex offender already in custody at the Deschutes County jail is facing new charges related to child sexual abuse following an investigation by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children unit.
Emily Fawkes, 45, of Bend, was on parole for a prior child sex crime when last November a parole officer notified Bend police Fawkes was in violation of parole conditions. Fawkes was previously convicted under the name Jeffery C. Yeager of encouraging child sex abuse. Upon arresting Fawkes, officers located a tablet device in Fawkes’ possession, which was turned over to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
Working alongside Deschutes County Parole and Probation, Bend Police and the Redmond Police Department’s digital forensics team, the Internet Crimes Against Children unit found evidence that Fawkes had allegedly been using the tablet to consume child sex material and contact minors.
Fawkes was indicted on Monday in Deschutes County Circuit Court on six charges of encouraging child sex abuse.
