Deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Eagle Crest man Friday after multiple attempted traffic stops for aggressive driving and break-checking a deputy. Doug Greaser resisted arrest and was taken to St. Charles Bend for evaluation.

Greaser drove aggressively in the Sisters area around 8 a.m. Friday morning, including break-checking a deputy who attempted to get him to stop and driving over a roundabout. The deputy chose not to pursue him. The car was seen traveling towards Black Butte on Highway 20.

When the car returned to Sisters around 9 a.m., Deschutes County deputies, along with officers from Oregon State Police and the Black Butte Police Department, attempted another traffic stop. The driver fled, and deputies pursued him east on Highway 20. The pursuit was stopped for safety reasons as the driver headed toward Bend.

At approximately 11 a.m., a citizen in Eagle Crest reported a car following them and making them feel uncomfortable. Deputies found it was the same vehicle and stopped Greaser’s car with multiple spike strips.

Greaser resisted arrest, and was charged with felony attempt to elude, reckless driving, reckless endangering and assault on a police officer.
