SALEM — The mother of a Salem toddler who was killed last year has pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal mistreatment.

Amanda Burciaga’s daughter, Natalia Lee, was murdered by Burciaga’s former boyfriend, Russell Ros.

Deputy district attorney Courtland Geyer said this week that the 20-year-old mother is accused of failing to provide adequate physical care for her two children when she left them with Ros, who is serving a prison sentence of almost 78 years.

Burciaga would leave the children in his care when she began working as a stripper and frequently left the state on weekend trips to work as a prostitute.
