THE DALLES — An 18-year-old man faces first-degree manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal shooting of his younger brother.
Wasco County District Attorney Eric Nisley says Daniel Hammond did not intentionally kill his 15-year-old brother, but he did act recklessly.
Michael Hammond was found dead in an upstairs bedroom in their family home in The Dalles early Sunday. He was a student at The Dalles-Whatonka High School.
KGW-TV reports that Daniel Hammond appeared in court Monday. His bail was set at $250,000.
