UA police ask for help finding bottle tossers: University of Arizona police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a bottle throwing incident that seriously injured a University of Oregon cheerleader last Saturday night. Police say several bottles were thrown onto the field when Oregon cheerleader KateLynn Johnson was hit in the head by a full bottle of water. Johnson was standing on the southwest side of the stadium when a full bottle of water hit her on the head and knocked her down. She was hospitalized overnight and treated for a concussion. UA police Sergeant Juan Alvarez said they want anyone who witnessed the incident or if they have video to come forward.

Chairs of NFL concussion panel resign: Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a wide-ranging memo about concussions to NFL teams Tuesday, saying the co-chairmen of the league’s committee on brain injuries have resigned and that he is examining potential rule changes “to reduce head impacts.” Goodell wrote that Dr. Ira Casson and Dr. David Viano, who have led the league committee on concussions since 2007, “have graciously offered to resign from those positions and to continue to assist the committee in its important work. We have accepted those resignations and are currently identifying their replacements.”
