Carissa Ertner and Chad DeYoung were married Aug. 16 at McMinnville Covenant Church. A reception followed at the Mansion at the Bayou Golf Course in McMinnville.

The bride is the daughter of Doug Ertner, of Redmond, and David and Penny Strand, of Salem. She is a 1995 graduate of Redmond High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 2000 and a master’s degree in education in 2005, both from Western Oregon University. She is a fifth-grade teacher at Josephine Wascher Elementary School in Lafayette.

The groom is the son of Larry and Barb DeYoung, of Turner. He is a 1994 graduate of Crater High School in Central Point. He earned a bachelor’s degree in wildlife in 1998 from Oregon State University, and a master’s degree in fisheries in 2007 from Humboldt State University. He is a project engineer.

The couple honeymooned in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

They will settle in McMinnville.
