Bend opens new permit center

The city of Bend’s Community Development Department has changed the way it does business with customers looking to get a building safety, planning or engineering permit.

In the past, people looking for permits had to go to permit counters in different locations, but now customers can get all three types of permits from a single place, according to a news release from the city of Bend. The new permit center is housed at City Hall, 710 N.W. Wall St., and is open from 7:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, the release said.

In addition, the Community Development Department is no longer accepting credit cards. Customers can pay for permits and other services by check, money order or cash at the permit counter. For more information, call 541-388-5580.
